Installing a stronger engine forced the rest of the machinery section to change. Warrior carried many boilers for a single engine, and their greater reliability made sustained steam operation plausible. Her internal section was arranged around feeding those boilers efficiently, moving coal, and placing stokers where they could keep the system working. Human labour, fuel flow, and machinery space became one integrated design problem. Steam power now determined the ship’s architecture, daily operation, and top speed.

Boiler layout made steam a shipwide system
Warrior’s boilers shaped an entire section of the hull, including coal movement and stoker positions, because reliable steam power had become the ship’s organizing requirement.
