At Jutland, Blanche occupied a position toward the rear of the Fourth Battle Squadron and did not fire her guns. The squadron's Third and Fourth Divisions comprised eight battleships: Iron Duke, Royal Oak, Superb, Canada, Benbow, Bellerophon, Temeraire, and Vanguard. Blanche kept station near Temeraire while another supporting cruiser covered a position farther forward. Their parallel line repeated flag hoists and confirmed that orders had passed among the battleships, making communications the ship's central contribution. HMS Dreadnought later rejoined the squadron as its flagship in March 1918.
