The UAD design illustrates armament, armour, and stability trade-offs

Building the 15-gun counterfactual inside UAD requires extra belt armour to make the design stable, illustrating system-level compromises while remaining explicitly a game scenario.

Notes

The Royal Oak scenario mounts five triple 14-inch turrets, giving its Dreadnought analogue fifteen heavy guns. Within UAD's rules, a belt proportioned like the historical ship's did not yield a stable design, so two inches were added until the game accepted the arrangement. That adjustment illustrates how a larger battery affects weight distribution, protection, machinery, and hull stability. UAD's modelling limits mean the 16-inch belt belongs to the game design rather than a claim about the requirements of a real 14-inch Dreadnought.
