Between Hostile Shores compiles archival material on the Mediterranean convoy battles of 1941-42. The Britannia Naval College series lets readers work through many of the records without visiting the archive. Its published documents include operational dispatches, force lists, and planning decisions. Readers can check whether the series already contains the record they need before paying the National Archives for another copy.
