Bermuda's bell, bugles, and ties to her namesake

Ceremonial gifts connected the cruiser with Bermuda and later became museum objects or uncertain keepsakes.

Notes

Visits to Bermuda brought the cruiser gifts that included a large bell and four bugles. The bell sometimes served as a baptismal font for crew members' children. Two bugles later reached the Bermuda Regiment, while the bell and surviving bugles were collected by the Bermuda Maritime Museum. Other objects disappeared after decommissioning, and former crew members taking keepsakes is offered as a possible explanation.
