Flagship duty and gunnery training extended Bellerophon's utility

Bellerophon served as a temporary rear-admiral's flagship in 1917 and became a gunnery training ship after the war before disposal in 1921.

Notes

The ship could substitute for Colossus as Fourth Battle Squadron's rear flagship, drawing on fittings and experience associated with ceremonial and command duties. Rear Admirals Roger Keyes and Douglas Nicholson used her when the normal flagship was unavailable. Although obsolete beside later dreadnoughts, her strong gunnery record kept her useful as a training ship in 1919. After a final refit in 1920, she was sold and ultimately broken up in Germany.
