Bellerophon served alongside ships including Dreadnought, Temeraire, and Agincourt in Fourth Battle Squadron and fought at Jutland as part of its fourth division. Superb later rejoined the squadron before moving with Temeraire to the Mediterranean in 1918. Under Admiral Doveton Sturdee, the 12-inch-gun squadron developed a reputation for strong organization and gunnery despite being less prestigious than newer formations. Its long wartime assignment shows how first-generation dreadnoughts remained useful when organized, trained, and commanded as a coherent force.
