Why the ruins remain easy to read

Clear interpretive signs, the Bulkeley family's park, and Parliament's funded garrison help explain both how visitors understand Beaumaris and why so much of it survived.

Notes

The castle's illustrated signs explain the structure in direct, accessible language. The surviving fabric also reflects decisions made long after the medieval building campaign. The Bulkeley family eventually treated the property as a park and visitor attraction, limiting the pressure to reuse every remaining stone. Parliament's decision to maintain a garrison during the mid-seventeenth century put money into the defenses instead of slighting them. Those choices help modern visitors see the unfinished concentric plan with unusual clarity.
