Could a Mediterranean command suit Beatty?

A Mediterranean appointment could give Beatty an independent joint operation and a larger staff, although his seniority makes the transfer doubtful.

Notes

If Beatty tried to replace Fisher as Churchill's competing naval adviser, Battenberg could consider sending him to another command. A Mediterranean appointment could suit his appetite for action and give him an Army-Navy operation of his own. The large staff needed for such an operation might compensate for weaknesses in his staff work, while sole command would appeal to him. His relatively junior standing as a vice-admiral makes that appointment doubtful, however. Retaining him with the battlecruiser fleet remains a plausible outcome.
