Question

What changes if Lion explodes at Dogger Bank and Admiral Beatty is killed?

Short answer

Beatty becomes a fallen hero, but a successor may reintegrate the battlecruisers more closely with the Grand Fleet and push the Admiral class toward true fast battleships.

Notes

The immediate public result would be Beatty's lionization as a wartime hero. Institutionally, the next commander might reconnect the Battle Cruiser Fleet more tightly with the Grand Fleet. The loss of Lion could also discredit lightly protected speed-first ships and steer Hood and her sisters toward fast-battleship protection.
