A battlecruiser survives by using range and speed

The trial shows why a fast battlecruiser must preserve its range advantage instead of accepting a close-range fight with a battleship.

Notes

Alpha has twelve 15-inch guns, a substantial armour belt, and a 36-knot maximum, but its mission still depends on avoiding a close-range fight with a battleship. The game AI repeatedly tries to charge and exposes the battlecruiser to unnecessary punishment. Under manual control, the ship uses its speed to stay beyond the opponent's useful range. Even a margin of roughly one kilometre matters when the faster vessel can preserve it. The trial shows that speed contributes only when the tactics maintain the range advantage.
