Battlecruiser numbers and force availability

A Draconic fleet comparison shows why several good-enough capital ships can create more usable deployments than a tiny force of exceptional ships.

Notes

A tank analogy distinguishes prestige platforms from fleet availability. A force of five or more battlecruisers could sustain ships at sea, in refit, based in Norway, and ready to sail, while a pair of highly valued ships would be guarded as irreplaceable assets. The proposed fleet could mix eleven-inch and fifteen-inch armament, and 'frigate' was considered as an early name for the battlecruiser concept. Ship numbers and maintenance cycles determine how much of a fleet can be deployed at once.
