Orion's official battle-honour record matches HMS Nubian and HMS Jervis and is surpassed only by HMS Warspite. The comparison jokes that a battleship need only fire its guns to earn a battle honour, while a cruiser or destroyer has to do more. Campaign honours for smaller warships can cover several battles. The argument is that comparable actions by a larger ship would count separately, so a simple tally understates the service behind Orion's honours. The closing tribute calls her a war hero and says she was gone too soon.
