Bathurst-class corvettes followed a different design lineage

Australia's Bathurst class followed a different path from the Flower class, with links to the Bangor class and British sloops.

Notes

A Brisbane presentation addressed why Australia built the Bathurst class instead of adopting the Flower class. The Australian design is characterized as a somewhat larger and longer relative of the Bangor class. It also belongs to the same broad development world as the British sloop programme. This lineage is more useful than treating every wartime vessel labelled a corvette as an equivalent solution.
