A captain planned four ASROCs to cover submarine movement

One captain's intended four-weapon pattern aimed to keep torpedoes within acquisition range despite a submarine moving during the attack.

Notes

Alex Clarke recalls a former US Navy captain whose ship carried ASROC. Although the prescribed attack called for two weapons, the captain intended to launch four around the target. His reasoning was that submarine movement would still leave two torpedoes within acquisition range. This is a recollection of one captain's intended tactic, without evidence here that he used it in combat.
