Must an arsenal ship rely on another ship's sensors?

Does an arsenal ship imply a floating magazine that depends on other ships' sensors?

Some more recent concepts do, but older versions could be more independent vessels.

Arsenal-ship proposals do not all assign the same independence to the vessel. Some more recent concepts fit the idea of a missile magazine directed by another platform's sensors. Older proposals could give the arsenal ship more capability to operate as a vessel in its own right.
