Archive access set the limits of a destroyer history

Inability to visit Canadian and Australian archives constrained the coverage of their ships in a destroyer history.

Notes

Alex Clarke identifies unavailable archival research as a limitation of his destroyer book. He had been unable to visit Canadian and Australian collections, so those countries' ships did not receive the coverage he wanted. The introduction explained that boundary. Where British records supplied evidence he considered reliable, he still discussed their ships' activities. Access to particular collections affected the scope and detail of the history.
