Chapter ยท 2:38-3:24

A cadet-training cruiser built to make a statement

ARA La Argentina combined a naval-academy role with the armament and presence value of a small light cruiser.

Notes

La Argentina was adapted from an Arethusa-style cruiser hull and carried three triple 6-inch turrets. Her large cadet complement made training central to the ship's purpose. The hull paired instructional accommodation with the fighting qualities of a modern light cruiser. She was also designed as a conspicuous national statement, giving Argentina a school ship with the presence of an operational warship.
