Anti-submarine warfare depends on trained formations

The ability to counter submarines depends on organisation, training, and coordinated formations across a whole force.

Notes

Ships and personnel alone do not make an anti-submarine capability. Crews must be trained, formations organised, and equipment integrated across the force before nominal resources become effective teams. Even the more anti-submarine-oriented British, Canadian, and other Commonwealth navies needed time to complete that cycle. One successful group can demonstrate the method, but it cannot cover a broad submarine threat while the rest of the force remains unprepared.
