Operational service changes Andrew Cunningham's mind

Andrew Cunningham opposed the large-destroyer idea until Tribals came under his command, after which he repeatedly chose them for demanding Mediterranean tasks.

Notes

Andrew Cunningham initially opposed the large-destroyer concept. Command experience reversed his view. Once Tribals joined the Mediterranean Fleet, Cunningham became a strong advocate and repeatedly chose them for unusual operations. Their performance settled a doctrinal objection that design debate had not.
