Ammunition exhaustion and the model's torpedo imbalance

The Japanese model retains torpedoes that the American design omits, a difference that could matter after the heavy guns exhaust their ammunition.

Notes

Ammunition exhaustion raises a further limitation of the simulated comparison. Both designs carry 6-inch secondary guns, but the Japanese ships also have torpedo launchers. The American model omits the proposed single-torpedo fittings because they seemed of little use against a Japanese broadside of four torpedoes. That omission is then reconsidered as a possible strategic mistake. The concern remains a forecast about the model, since the fleets have not yet exhausted their ammunition.
