Sea control during the Alpujarras rebellion

Bazán's control of the coast cut overseas resupply to rebels during Don John of Austria's Alpujarras campaign.

Notes

Before Lepanto, Bazán supported Don John of Austria during the suppression of the Alpujarras rebellion. The campaign depended heavily on maritime logistics despite taking place largely ashore. Bazán's forces prevented the rebels from being readily resupplied from the sea, helping the royal operation sustain itself while isolating its opponents. Sea control worked here through interdiction and logistical denial rather than a set-piece fleet battle.
