Albion and Bulwark should be replaced by dock-equipped LHDs rather than simply lost. Such ships could support amphibious operations and add useful flight-deck capacity to a STOVL fleet when needed. A modified Canberra-class design is presented as a more plausible British model than the larger American aviation-centered approach.
