What upcoming books are you most looking forward to?
Short answerAdept's Path has just appeared. Its fantasy-western protagonist receives the memories of a dead master, bringing expertise to someone still struggling at a novice level.
NotesAdept's Path gives its protagonist another person's remembered life. Glynn Stewart qualifies that inheritance: it contains what the other man remembered when he died, with early life already somewhat fuzzy. Those memories belong to the last fully trained master of a skill the protagonist still knows only at novice level. That provides a considerable practical advantage without making two lives in one head easy to manage.
