Is Adept's Path part of a western series?

Stewart calls the series a fantasy western in a secondary world. He does not endorse the readers' assumption that its people arrived on spaceships.

Glynn Stewart identifies Adept's Path with a fantasy-western series set in a secondary world. Some readers are convinced the inhabitants arrived in spaceships, an assumption he says he does not understand. The cover's steam trains, bows and apparent wizards prompt Alex Clarke's reaction to its mixture of familiar genre elements. He has not yet read this series during the conversation and describes his usual preference for harder science fiction such as Peacekeepers of Sol.
