The occupants cannot physically operate the ship at that acceleration, so its 900 space-division personnel work through a shared virtual-reality network. Fighter pilots already use this arrangement and are more accustomed to it than other members of the crew. Pushing the crew to its limit reduces the time to arrival from three hours and twenty minutes to two hours and thirty minutes.
