Question

Does Star Trek have carriers?

Short answer

Yes in the wider setting, but the carriers supporting the fighters seen and discussed in Deep Space Nine are not clearly identified on screen.

Notes

The wider Star Trek setting includes carriers. Deep Space Nine both discusses fighters and shows them in battle, yet their supporting carriers receive little explanation. Adapted Galaxy-class hulls are offered as a possible carrier design. That is a proposed explanation for the missing support ships, rather than a confirmed identification.
