Uncrewed vehicles are described as part of the ASWF concept from the outset. The planned defensive missile fit is 16 vertical-launch cells carrying 64 quad-packed ESSMs, with a RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile system for close defence. Eight Naval Strike Missiles provide the anti-ship armament. The gun outfit includes a 76 mm OTO Melara system with specialised ammunition and two Bofors 40 mm guns. The equipment itself receives a positive assessment; the broader concern is how the programme delivers and pays for that capability.
