Chapter · 27:28-33:23

Turning 1938 naval design cultures into Star Destroyers

A 1938 premise guides the national ship choices, with Littorio, Scharnhorst, and Yamato matched to different fictional capital ships.

Notes

The exercise starts with different Star Destroyer types and asks which historical capital ships suit them. Littorio represents Italy, partly to spare the older Italian battleships that are personal favorites. The 1938 date permits a Scharnhorst-class reference for Germany; a Deutschland-class alternative would require a heavy-cruiser counterpart instead. Yamato's size supplies a reason to use the enormous Xyston-class concept. Making those comparisons requires enough historical context to connect ships, roles, and design choices across different settings.
